National
Great Power Party holds rally in Moscow
MOSCOW.
Jan 26 (Interfax) - Representatives of Russia's National Great Power
Party held a rally in Moscow on Sunday to defend the party from
"unfounded attacks." The rally was held in front of the
building of the World Congress of Russian-Speaking Jews.
"Recently,
the chief rabbis of the U.S., Israel and Russia sent a letter of protest
to the Russian president, demanding that our party be disbanded. We
don't understand why such calls are coming from abroad, and wish to
express our protest against unfounded attacks," party spokesman
Igor Tomilov told Interfax.
"Our
country must be governed by Russian citizens who will live and bring up
their children in this country. We don't want anyone to dictate any
terms to us from abroad," he said.
The
rally brought together 55 demonstrators, who held posters reading
"Attacks Against the National-Great Power Party are a Strike
Against the Russian People!", and "No to International
Zionism's Interference in Russian Affairs!"
