CONFERENCE OF PRESIDENTS OF MAJOR AMERICAN JEWISH ORGANIZATIONS ELECTS NCSJ CHAIRMAN RICHARD STONE AS ITS NEW CHAIRMAN
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 12, 2011 - Yesterday, the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations elected Richard B. Stone, NCSJ's chief lay leader since December 2008, as its new Chairman. Mr. Stone will formally assume the chairmanship of the Conference of Presidents on June 1, 2011, and will continue to serve as Chairman of NCSJ.
The Conference of Presidents is the central coordinating body for national Jewish agencies, representing 52 organizations (including NCSJ) from across the political and religious spectrum.
NCSJ Executive Director Mark B. Levin hailed Mr. Stone's election as "a great match of the right man and the right job. As he's shown in his leadership of NCSJ, Richard is smart, extremely capable, and he has a guiding vision for how to advance the Jewish community's agenda."
NCSJ congratulates our chairman on his election, and wishes him every success in this exciting new role.
