Actions
of Solidarity With Israel to be Held in 13 Russia Cities
MOSCOW.
April 24 (Interfax) - Several actions of solidarity with Israel will
be held in Moscow and 12 other Russian cities on Thursday, Russian
Jewish Congress President Yevgeny Satanovsky said at a press
conference in Moscow on Wednesday.
Two
actions will begin simultaneously at 7:00 p.m. in Spaso- Glinischevsky
Lane and in front of the Israeli Embassy. The participants will form a
ring and light candles to commemorate the victims of the ongoing
conflict, Satanovsky said.
On
April 25, new signatures can be added to the "Letter of
Solidarity," which has already been signed by 1,500 people, he
said. "These are the signatures of people who realize that if
civilians are murdered somewhere, it is their affair too, and it
concerns them," he said.
"We
have organized the solidarity action with the people of Israel because
today these people are on the frontline of fighting international
terrorism," he said.
Other
nationalities should participate in this action, "which is a
demonstration of solidarity with Jews and non-Jews, Palestinians and
non-Palestinians. During the conflict, many people, for instance
tourists, were killed by accident," he said.
"Several
other serious actions" will be held in late May, he said.
