NCSJ COMMENDS U.S., RUSSIA
ON MOVE TO SIMPLIFY VISA REGIME
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 26, 2011 – Today, the White House announced the intent of the United States and the Russian Federation to simplify the visa regime between the two countries, allowing for freer and more open tourist and business travel.
NCSJ commends the two governments on this improvement in bilateral relations. NCSJ, as an organization beginning its 40th anniversary year, recognizes that the best way for the citizens of our countries to gain a deeper understanding of each other, and to strengthen economic and cultural ties, is to visit and see firsthand each other’s nations.
NCSJ Chairman Richard B. Stone said, “This latest announcement is a positive and practical outcome in U.S.-Russia relations.”
NCSJ President Alexander Smukler said, “I am so pleased that the people of Russia, where I was born, and the people of my adopted homeland in the United States will soon be able to more easily join together, in friendship. This is a wonderful step forward for our two nations.”
