Lithuanian president meets Jewish group on WW2 reparations

VILNIUS, Lithuania - The question of restitution of Jewish property was discussed at a meeting Friday between Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and a delegation from the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. The president said that parliament would have to look into the issue when it meets after the summer recess.
Aleksander Mashkevich, head of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress that represents 28 European and Asian states as well as Australia and New Zealand, told journalists that a lot had been done, the BNS news agency reported.
Mashkevich mentioned the transfer of Torahs to Israel in recent years as an example.
