Lithuania held commemorations to mark the 60th anniversary of the start of the Holocaust in the Baltic nation. Sept. 23 also serves as the anniversary of the 1943 liquidation of the Vilnius Ghetto, in which thousands of Jews were forced from their homes and sent to Nazi death camps.
